Silverleaf phacelia, also known as scorpionweed, has beautiful grey-green leaves and dramatic unfurling coils of small white flowers.  It grows in dry open areas, along roadsides from valley bottoms to subalpine meadows.  In a garden, it is very drought tolerant and adapts to a wide range of soils.

It is a truly outstanding plant for pollinators, attracting a crazy diversity of bees, butterflies, and flies.  As the blossoming coil unfurls, it produces new flowers with fresh nectar and pollen for an extended bloom from spring through summer.  A must have for pollinators meadows!
