Nodding onion is a perennial bulb with nodding clusters of pink flowers highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Its grass-like leaves have a mild onion scent and can be eaten along with the bulb.  The flowers are also edible!  In the right habitat, it increases quickly through bulb division.  A great plant for rock gardens, edible landscaping, and in an open to shady meadow.

NOTE: We have poisonous look-alike plants in our landscape – best to smell the plant before popping it into your mouth. Does it smell like an onion?
